PRAC II will host it's first annual inter-provincial forum this month in Calgary, Alberta. The forum theme, “The Economics of Climate Change Adaptation”, will be explored through expert presentations and group breakout sessions. Presentations covering climate change impacts, future economic sector growth, the cost/benefit of adaptation, and public-private partnership interest in adaptation management will provide participants with the most current information on the economic aspects of adaptation in the Prairie Provinces.
Breakout sessions will provide an avenue for participants to identify and prioritize potential adaptation mainstreaming opportunities within and across the Prairie Provinces. Outputs from the forum will directly inform future research studies in the area of economics and adaptation and within the broader context of adaptation planning and management. They will also provide content and direction for collaborative program development across the Prairies.
